Get off on the right foot with this challenging medium by learning the traditional techniques, which can be applied to all subjects. Regular demonstrations are provided, and paintings are developed step-by-step as a group in an informal atmosphere.
Student testimonials:
It was a really good atmosphere, Warren is very good in welcoming all, the teaching was great, very knowledgable, encouraging, entertaining, all one would like form a course.
The tone of a group is set by its head and Warren's nice demeanor made for a friendly easy going group.
Please bring a few watercolour brushes of various sizes, ideally half a dozen brushes from fairly small to fairly big and a few in between.
Watercolour paper, rough or cold pressed surface.
Colours in tubes or pans, either is fine, sets with colours already in are okay, they generally have a decent variety.
If buying separately, here are colours I use and recommend:
Cadmium yellow light
Yellow ochre
Cadmium red light
Alizarin crimson
Burnt sienna
Burnt umber
Viridian Cerulean blue
Please note: All 10, and 12 week courses have a half term break in the middle. For term dates please visit our Contact us page. We are not open on bank holiday Mondays and any class that falls on these days will be made up at the end of term.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
