A tribute to the Swedish-American labour songwriter in words and music by Holly Carter.
'Don't Mourn - Organise!' is a live tribute to one of America's most prolific and influential musical troubadours. In this deeply touching and comprehensively researched show, Holly discusses everything from Joe Hill's upbringing in Sweden to his posthumous impact on music and activism in the 20th and 21st Centuries, as well as performing a number of significant songs from his expansive catalogue.
Holly Carter is a Bristol based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, specialising in fingerstyle guitar and pedal steel. Two time winner of Instrumentalist of the Year at the AMAUK awards, Holly is an in-demand session player and has performed with some of the most well respected names on the Folk, Americana and Blues circuits, including Allison Russell, Amythyst Kiah and Martin Harley.
FYI:
We have noticed an increasing number of scams / fake tickets for our events recently (especially purchased from social media). We do our best to monitor our social media pages and delete posts from scam ticket sellers, but some still manage to slip the net as we are a small team and do not have the capacity to constantly monitor all of our event pages on social media.
We never accept tickets purchased from unofficial ticket agents or social media platforms.
If an event is sold out – we can refund ticket holders wanting to return tickets provided we have a guaranteed buyer on the waiting list and it is before Friday 12pm on the weekend of the event. Therefore there is never a need to buy from anywhere except for official ticket selling sites (our website, Headfirst, Seetickets. Ticketsellers, Skiddle, TicketTailor, Eventbrite or any site that is linked on our website for the event). If in doubt, please contact us before making any purchases.
Tickets are available online, over the phone or in person.
