Introduction to Herbal Medicine

Come and learn about the rich and fascinating world of Herbal Medicine with an introductory lecture by a fully qualified Herbalist and Naturopath. In this lecture we will see why Herbal Medicine is relevant now more than ever in helping us combat disease and come back to balance with ourselves. Rather than seeing Herbal Medicine as something of the past, in this lecture I want to show you how important a role it can play in our future systems of healthcare. As rates of chronic, metabolic diseases continue to rise around the world, the shortfalls of modern-day medicine are becoming increasingly apparent, and a revisioning and reexamining of traditional, natural forms of healthcare seems timely. 

 

We will delve into some of the history and philosophy of Herbal Medicine, as well as do a deep dive into 3 herbs that grow locally to the area. There will also be a tasting session at the end for you to enjoy. 

 

Bio:

I studied Spanish and Philosophy undergraduate at the University of Leeds but after a bout of severe illness in my early twenties which conventional medicine was unable to solve, I decided to study Herbal Medicine, and in 2024 qualified with a diploma in Herbal Medicine and Naturopathy from the CNM in London and now
