Featuring David C Johnson and Beth Gilmore with Girl Friday

David has shared billing with Beth on a number of occasions. Their shows that combine Beth’s wonderful voice and songs with David's wry look at the world via his poetry have entertained many. 

David C Johnson is a late-blooming poet and performer, who began versifying and showing
off in public at the age of 50. He has co-written and acted in radio plays for BBC’s Radio 4
and has performed his poetry on Radio 4Extra and BBC Radio Bristol. He has featured at
Poetry Festivals and poetry venues in England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, USA, Canada and
Germany. He was poet in residence for the Bristol Bike Festival and the Bristol Poetry
Festival. He is a poetry slam champion and is a founding member of the Bristol poets group
the IsamBards.

Beth Gilmore writes of hope as well as regret , joy to balance the sadness. Being a pensive
and reflective soul can be rather useful for songwriting. 
Beth is deeply inspired by Joni Mitchell , Eddi Reader, Carole King and Bonnie Raitt, but she
has been compared to Allison Krauss, as a sound alike, which she really doesn’t object to!
Beth offers a folky , bluesy , soulful , clean voice and some catchy ( but not annoying ) songs
to help you drift away from this rather mad world .

My Girl Friday is a collective.
Beth’s Girl Friday is Kelly Lloyd whose super power is beautifully blending and pre-empting
Beth’s next melodic move! They will be joined by Tom Fryer, guitarist ,who is shared around
oodles of bands, probably because he’s rather good and lovely to work with. So My Girl
Friday is blessed to have him on board.
