In this one-day introduction workshop, led by a Medical Herbalist, Claire Goulding (BSc, MNIMH) and Menstruality Mentor (Red School), we will look at what is happening in the body during peri and menopausal changes, with common symptoms that can occur such as raised anxiety, hot flushes, flooding, irregular bleeding, hot flushes and more.
Discover how these medicinal herbs can support and regulate hormones, reduce stress and restore your vitality. Expect a blend of tutor-led information and plenty of hands-on medicine making. Leave feeling equipped with knowledge, handmade herbal medicine and practical tools to empower and thrive. This course will give practical ways to help combat troublesome issues and offer a new lens on how to approach these natural transitions with a more positive, holistic perspective.
The day course will include:
- An introduction into the 'materia medica' of a selection of medicinal herbs learning terminology to support your herbal journey whatever stage you are at
- Practical medicine making for hormonal health: how to make your own infusions and decoctions with different medicinal plants
- Tea tasting - introduction to energetics of herbs from a western herbalism perspective - Learn how to create your own bespoke herbal tea blends to take home - Instructions on how to make your own folklore tinctures

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
