This workshop is designed for neurodivergent individuals - or anyone curious about embracing diverse ways of thinking and processing -who want to explore how their unique cognitive traits can fuel creative expression. From tangential, non-linear thinking to heightened emotionality, this course delves into the rich potential of neurodivergent cognition as a self-aware and empowering process for creating art, writing, music, and beyond.
Through interactive, individual and group creative exercises, participants will explore ways to reframe traits like impulsivity, time blindness, and non-linear thinking as assets in their artistic journey.
Participants will be provided with conceptual prompts, models and examples to stimulate and generate inspiration, and experiment with their creative practice in a supportive environment.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have a stronger understanding of their own creative voice and a toolkit for embracing the uniqueness of the mind into powerful artistic outputs. This is a space to celebrate, explore, and liberate the way your mind works - no apologies, no constraints. Come as you are and discover the art that only you can create.
Pen and paper.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
