Scanners aren't just for offices and admin tasks, they can be a playground to open up your imagination to new creative possibilities. Join us for a day of exploration and experimentation.
For the first half of this workshop we will take a look at some inspiration from other artists and see how we could use their techniques on the day. We will then use flatbed and negative scanners to play and explore their potential and work collaboratively as a group.
In the second half of the workshop we will look at how we can use the images we've created to push the techniques further with layering using acetate and darkroom techniques where the digital becomes analogue.
This workshop is partly in the darkroom, it is very much a standing workshop and in a small space.
Student Testimonials:
Sophie's teaching was enlightening and left me with lots of curiosities which I can't wait to experiment by myself
All materials will be provided but please feel free to bring along interesting objects and translucent things to scan on the day.
Please be aware that the darkroom is a small space and this workshop will require standing. If you would like to dicsuss this further, please contact admin@bristolfolkhouse.co.uk.
Please note: All 10, and 12 week courses have a half term break in the middle. For term dates please visit our Contact us page. We are not open on bank holiday Mondays and any class that falls on these days will be made up at the end of term.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
