Spend a few weeks learning the basics of manufacturing leather goods, utilising traditional old-timey practices such as saddle stitching, skiving, and burnishing while using the toughest natural materials around Bristol. Buckle up for a ruggedy hands-on experience.
In the first two weeks we will be going through the techniques and equipment, then we will start working on a leather product chosen by you.
Leather products: bifold card wallet | card wallet | coin pouch | key accessory | belt |
Sustainable Practice:
Leather is a bi-product of the food industry in service of many trades as a durable, reliable, and natural resource.
Using saddle-grade vegetable-tanned leather from the local Bristol tannery, which is traditionally produced, chemical free we can prevent this surplus material from ending up in landfills. Therefore I offer a lifetime warranty on all goods produced through this workshop.
Committed to respectfully fabricating everything here in the UK.
Forever on the quest of making the most durable goods.
All materials and tools are provided and included.
Please note: All 10, and 12 week courses have a half term break in the middle. For term dates please visit our Contact us page. We are not open on bank holiday Mondays and any class that falls on these days will be made up at the end of term.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
