Tutor: Claire - Louise Symonds
Most people will suffer from stiff shoulders and neck that can cause pain and discomfort at some point in their life, whether you spend a lot of your time sat at a desk or standing on your feet, have poor posture or are recovering after a mild injury. During this workshop we will work to release the neck and shoulder girdle with forward bends and twists, support the lower back by strengthening core muscles to free up chest and shoulders with gentle back bends. Yoga postures for all, beginners welcome, although if you are suffering from a serious back problem and find it difficult to lie or sit on the floor, please contact us first.
Student testimonial:
Claire - Louise has a great teaching style - very clear and precise but also very relaxed. I hope to come to more of her workshops.
Claire's class was very relaxing, as was the atmosphere in the group. I found the class useful and enjoyable.
Please bring a yoga/camping mat, cushion and blanket. There are yoga mats available at the Folk House to borrow. You may like to bring a water bottle.
Please note: All 10, and 12 week courses have a half term break in the middle. For term dates please visit our Contact us page. We are not open on bank holiday Mondays and any class that falls on these days will be made up at the end of term.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
