Maeve grew up in Europe, Asia and South America before living in New York City for ten years while she completed her BA at New York University, her MA at Hunter College (CUNY) and worked for four years at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. During her degrees, she also held curatorial internships at the Guggenheim Museum and the Hispanic Society. She completed her PhD at The Courtauld Institute of Art in London in 2018 where she wrote a thesis on medieval altar furnishings and liturgical objects from the Iberian kingdom of Castile. Immediately following her PhD, Maeve curated an exhibition on the role of artists in the development of Marian theology at the Getty Museum. Returning to England, she has worked for five years as a researcher of art history at the University of Bristol and is currently managing the collection of the Montpascal Foundation. She has recently returned to her own drawing practice and hopes to publish children's books.
