'DARE TO SING': Do you want to sing with your whole heart but feel something stops you?
Here is an opportunity to try a 'Dare to Sing' introductory workshop aimed to spark the beginning of a journey to discover your own authentic voice, which will lead into a series of 6-week courses if that's what you choose.
Be prepared for a light-hearted time; this is especially for anyone who is terrified, rusty, silenced, or seriously voice-shy, and particularly if you say: "I'd love to sing, but I can't"!
Adults of all ages and genders welcome.
In a non-judgmental, supportive way I will gently and playfully introduce you to your own voice, using movement, breath, sound and maybe even song. You will be encouraged to join in and play as much as you are able.
I will introduce you to sounds by using the Indian Rag or names for the notes, so there is no need to be worried about having any previous musical knowledge.
Wear loose comfortable clothes.
Please note: All 10, and 12 week courses have a half term break in the middle. For term dates please visit our Contact us page. We are not open on bank holiday Mondays and any class that falls on these days will be made up at the end of term.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
